Every year, the trucking industry sets aside one week to say thank you to the people who make everything else possible. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs September 13 through 19, 2026. This is the 38th year the American Trucking Associations has organized the observance.
We spend our days building relationships with the drivers and fleets who run Kenworth and all other trucks across Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. We see firsthand what the job demands, and we want to take this week to recognize it.
Why National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Matters
More than 3.6 million professional drivers move freight across the country every day. According to the American Trucking Associations, more than 80% of U.S. communities rely exclusively on trucks to get their goods to market.
That means the food on your table, the medicine at the pharmacy, and the materials on a jobsite all got there because a driver made the run. Early mornings, long hauls, tight schedules, and decisions made at 2 a.m. on an empty highway. It is one of the most demanding jobs in the country, and one of the most essential.
